Freedom multi-generational accessible kitchen comes to Berkshire

Tara Neil Kitchens has been appointed an exclusive retailer of Freedom by Symphony, an innovative new range of accessible kitchens. Freedom is an exciting multi-generational accessible kitchen concept where each and every kitchen embraces specialist design features and the latest kitchen styles. The product has been designed with the user at the forefront and addresses the recommendations from the Approved Doc-M 2015 (ADM) and Wheelchair Housing Design Guide 2018 (WHDG).

Developed in partnership with Adam Thomas, the UKs leading expert in accessible kitchen design, Freedom by Symphony is leading the way in designing for an individual’s requirements as well as the growing number of multigenerational households. These kitchens combine functionality and style by offering the freedom of independence in a kitchen whilst combining a selection of beautiful finishes to create a perfect kitchen.

Some of Adam’s achievements in the field of accessible design include:

  • Lecturer at Bucks New University, FDA Kitchen Design Degree
  • Head consultant of accessible kitchens for the competitor village at the London 2012 Games
  • Co-author, Wheelchair Housing Design Guide (WHDG), 3rd Edition 2018 – Joint Project: Habinteg & Centre for Accessible Environments
  • Winner, KBSA Accessible/Inclusive Designer of the Year Award, 2015
  • Co-author of the Mayor of London’s ‘Private Sector Wheelchair Housing Design Guide’

Adam says, “What Symphony has done is truly revolutionary, Freedom is the first accessible kitchen range on the market that I believe is truly accessible; it astounds me how they have embraced my vision to bring accessible kitchen design to all.  Tara Neil Kitchens has successfully completed my design training course, which I have been offering with Symphony, and has an excellent display, which perfectly showcases the Freedom offer. I truly believe in making accessible design available to everyone who needs it, and what we can now offer with Freedom at Tara Neil Kitchen will help me in this goal.”.
